The price (which seems to have risen a bit) and size of this product is what led me to purchasing it. It was much cheaper than other nets that are on the market, and it also was the perfect size for my rack. I used the next to hold various items from a cooler, tent, and other misc bags on my rack on a trip to mountains. It held the items down doing 70 mph in heavy rain and wind...great trip btw :-)...so I can attest to the initial strength of the product. However, after a few months of the net being on my rack, I noticed that the rubberband like material that makes up the bungee cords had dried out and easily broke apart into pieces. So, now I am left with just the plastic hooks that actually work pretty well with rope that fit inside the holes that the bungee once occupied. lol.
I am giving the product 3 stars because I cannot say whether the product itself is defective or if it is my fault for leaving the net on the rack exposed to the elements for such a long time. I...Read more

This roof rack net is very tough. It has well made plastic hooks and the bungee material seems to be very high quality. My only gripe is that the squares are a little big when stretched across our 2010 Toyota Highlander. I was a little concerned that the smaller bags would slip through the net. Notice the picture only shows the net holding down three large items? We packed for camping and wanted to put the sleeping bags on the roof along with the chairs, tent, etc... Next time I will pack the sleeping bags under the bigger stuff and avoid the worry. But nice product overall.
Buy it if your basket is a small one!,

The quality is ok. There are definitely better ones out there. But it will get the job done if your basket is small enough. My basket is a Surco Safari Rack 45x60" and this did not come close to fitting it. If you have a large roof rack, go with the Yakima megawarrior net.
