Delta 352002 Black Single-Lid Compact Low-Profile Truck Box for Ford/Chevrolet/Dodge/Toyota/Nissan/Mazda/Isuzu Compact Pickups

This is a good news/bad news story. I ordered this item and it was delivered promptly - in 2 days -- albeit without any keys to lock it as well as with a small dent! I sent an e-mail to Amazon's customer service department that day and seconds later I requested that they call me. My impression from years ago was that it was difficult to contact Amazon's customer service department, but they called me within seconds. The quality of the phone connection itself was poor, but the people were very helpful and informed me they would send a replacement. Within the hour they also responded to my e-mail commenting that it appeared as if my matter had been taken care of (good cross referencing!). The replacement came in two days albeit with a larger dent and missing the installation components and with only one key --- and the key/locking mechanism didn't work.

To start off I read the first review and the item had been given one star so I was hesistant to spend the money but this was such a good deal compared to other retailers that I thought I would take the chance and be lucky. The item shipped way faster than I had anticipated but when it arrived the box it came in had no packaging and was barely even closed. I could actually see the item hanging out of it (what you get for choosing free shipping i suppose). I was worried about dents but there were none only a few scratches which weren't to bad. Then I checked and there were no keys....great.

I called Amazon using their immediate call back feature and the woman on the phone told me there was no replacement keys in stock and they also didn't have any more of the item, she did tell me they would refund my account the $10 it cost to have new keys shipped to me straight from Delta. After reading the first two 1-Star reviews of this tool box, I was pretty leery about placing my order, but then I realized the third time's a charm.

My tool box arrived in two days with no dents, only a tiny scratch that didn't bother me a bit, and TWO keys. It even had installation instructions and foam padding to protect the rails (my bed is Line-X'd so I didn't bother with the pads).

My Fed Ex driver insisted on taking the tool box out of the cardboard box to check it for damage. He said "Why doesn't Amazon put some kind of shipping material in there to protect it?!" He's right, and it makes me think Amazon doesn't really care too much about customer satisfaction until it comes time to refund the money.

Anyway, my box is great, and I couldn't be happier with it. It looks fantastic on my truck.
